Farm information: This is a very special mice lot produced by a small group of women from the Koakaka Cooperative. Majority of members owning less than 300 trees alongside their subsistence crops. The missing of the co-operative is to produce exceptional coffees, consistently improve the welfare of their members by reducing unemployment and protect their natural environment. The co-operative have certifications from UTZ , Fairtrade and Rainforest Alliance. Koakaka has been awarded several times at the Rwandan Cup of Excellence and recently won 1st place with a score of 90.3 at the Rwashoscco Coffee Excellence. The journey of this coffee starts from hand picking only the ripest cherries which are sorted, graded and floated to extract only the densest coffees. They are then pulped and soaked overnight in fresh water after which they are sorted and turned by hand on raised beds for over two weeks. This is a very approachable and balanced example of how good Rwandan coffee can be. Really delicious black but certainly great with milk also. We are proud to once again be able to offer coffee from this beautiful country.
