Farm information: The Waykan lot is made up from a number of neighbouring producers scattered around the highlands of Huehuetenango (affectionately known as Hue-Hue). The lots are specially selected and blended to highlight the typical character and profile of coffees coming from this famous region in Guatemala. Hue-hue itself is considered a coffee economy whereby around 80% of the local population makes is living from coffee production.
In the Maya dialect from Huehuetenango, waykan means “star (or light) that shines in the sky at night.” The producers of Waykan are situated in the municipalities of Chajul, Quiche, Cotzal, and Nebaj.
