Burundi - Nemba
This is a Red Bourbon coffee from Kayanza, Burundi, produced by over 1,074 smallholder farmers delivering cherry to the Nemba washing station. Grown at 1,700 MASL, it reflects meticulous agricultural support managed by Greenco. This lot is processed using the natural method, meaning whole coffee cherries are dried intact with the fruit still surrounding the seed. After selective handpicking and floating to remove defects, cherries are laid in thin layers on raised sun beds and turned frequently to ensure even drying. This is a slow process that allows sugars and fruit character from the coffee cherry to infuse into the bean. Creating depth, sweetness, and complexity.
