In the lush hills of La Coipa, Cajamarca, Finca El Babaco takes its name from the tropical fruit growing among its coffee trees a symbol of vitality and family livelihood.

For Bernabé Padilla, a third-generation producer, coffee is his life’s work. 
He began at fourteen with half a hectare gifted by his father and has since expanded, shaping a vision centred on quality and innovation.

With over 20 years of experience, Bernabé and his wife Neydi Tocto have steadily improved their farm, investing in better infrastructure and drying systems to refine every step of production. Bordering the Tabaconas - Namballe Reserve, the farm’s unique microclimate nurtures Bourbon, Geisha, and Catimor varieties.

Through careful cherry selection, dual anaerobic fermentation, and slow solar drying, Bernabé produces expressive, high-scoring coffees—each cup a reflection of his family’s dedication and craft.

 

Tasting Notes: Almond, rich toffee and milk chocolate with a syrupy mouthfeel and a balanced, clean finish.
