Ethiopia - Werka
Grown near the village of Werka in Ethiopia’s high-elevation Nensebo district, this lot comes from families farming tiny organic plots shaded by native trees.
Their ripe cherries travel daily to the Gara Kone washing station perched at 2,020m where Testi Coffee’s Premium Cherry Selection program ensures meticulous sorting, washing and fermentation using fresh spring water.
Around 750–800 smallholders contribute to the station each harvest, producing some of West Arsi’s most vibrant coffees. The region’s cool, humid highlands and slow cherry ripening create dense beans with remarkable sweetness and complexity.
Known historically as part of Sidama, West Arsi is now celebrated in its own right for stunning washed coffees: floral, tea-like and intensely fruit-forward true to Ethiopia’s birthplace of Arabica
