Finca Dona Chila - Honduras Espresso
By the age of nine, José Rolando was already learning everything about coffee farming from his dad. As a teen, he expanded his skills, working on other farms to earn his own money. In 2013, with their grandfather’s support, Rolando and his brothers started managing their own farm. After their father passed away two years ago, they named the farm Finca Doña Chila in honor of their mum. Today, it’s a family-run operation, with Rolando, his brothers, and even their cousins, mum, and sister all pitching in. Rolando, always looking to improve, ventured into specialty coffee with guidance from neighbours and El Beneficio San Vicente. His first specialty lot in 2017 was a success, and now the family is focused on producing high-quality coffee that stands out in the market.
