This exceptional micro-lot comes from El Calagual, a 4.5-hectare farm in Santa Rosa, Guatemala, produced by fifth-generation coffee farmer Darwin Estuardo Fabián Estrada.

While his family has grown coffee since 1899, Darwin was the first to recognise El Calagual’s potential for specialty production.

While studying agronomy, he convinced his father to let him harvest and process a small lot for his university thesis the results were outstanding.

Today, Darwin manages the farm, experimenting with varieties and processes to unlock its full potential.

He combines hands-on farming with deep technical knowledge from his work in quality assurance and consulting for other producers.

With a focus on innovation, sustainability, and quality over volume, Darwin is shaping a resilient future for his family’s farm and producing exceptional coffee that continues to impress.
