Proceeds from every bag of this coffee sold will be donated to the Supporting Strong Women fundraising initiative. These funds will be used to build a new child care service at the washing station used by the members of the Rambagirakawa, a women's association of coffee producers under the Dukunde Kawa Co-operative. Accomplishing this goal will directly impact the women's productivity and prosperity, while also ensuring their children are cared for in a safe and happy environment.

Produced by a group of smallholder producers who farm in the hills surrounding the Sovu washing station. The Co-op own three washing stations in the district and produce 100% Red Bourbon varietal. They group are often recognised in the Cup of Excellence program. The group recently invested in improvements in their cherry sorting equipment and water treatment facilities. The area around Sovu washing station has ideal growing conditions for high-quality coffee, with high elevations, good rainfall and steady, cool temperatures year-round. Coffee from this region is characterised by heavy sweetness and juicy fruit notes due to its high elevations, good rainfall and steady cool temperatures year round.

Peaberry or PB refers to a natural mutation of the coffee bean inside its cherry whereby normally coffee beans grow two to a fruit, flat against each other but in this case only a single seed grows. This occurs in less than 5% of all coffee cherries. Some claim these are sweeter and more flavourful than the typical seed formation.

This lot is also certified organic.
