Sulawesi Karangan Washed is a high-altitude coffee grown in the Enrekang Regency, where steep terrain and rich volcanic soil create ideal conditions for specialty coffee. Led by Yolan Tirta of Toduri Coffee, whose family has been in the trade for generations, this lot showcases meticulous processing and quality innovation.
Handpicked cherries are fully washed, dry fermented for 48 hours, and carefully dried on raised beds to enhance clarity and complexity. Yolan’s dedication to excellence has earned him a 3rd-place finish in the Indonesia Cup of Excellence.
Despite Indonesia's long history in coffee production, Sulawesi’s specialty market remains underdeveloped due to traditional wet parchment trade and challenging supply chains. However, with direct partnerships and investment in modern processing techniques, exceptional coffees like this are gaining global recognition.
