Colombia El Plan - Filter
Grown at a breathtaking 2,250m in Aponte, Nariño, this honey-processed microlot from Rolando Janamejoy embodies the distinct climate and indigenous heritage of the Inga people. On his small three-hectare farm El Plan, Rolando—together with his son Wilson—produces coffee with care, intention, and pride. The region’s cool winds and volcanic soils are ideal for slow cherry maturation, leading to a cup that is complex and refined.
After handpicking, the coffee is pre-fermented in cherry for 48 hours, then pulped and dried with sticky mucilage intact over 30 days. This careful honey process results in vibrant fruit character and remarkable sweetness.
In the cup, expect tamarind and gooseberry acidity, balanced by golden plum and caramel sweetness and a finish of black tea. This lot is a beautiful expression of Colombia’s evolving specialty scene and the determination of a family pushing toward a sustainable, quality-focused future.
