Nestled near Mt. Kenya National Park in Nyeri County, Kiambara Washing Station has been producing exceptional coffee since 1995.
Managed by the Mugaga Coffee Farmers’ Cooperative Society, it serves 910 smallholder farmers who grow coffee on nutrient-rich volcanic soils at elevations of 1,600–1,900 meters. These farmers, cultivating around 200 coffee trees on average, also grow crops like bananas, macadamias, and maize.
Kiambara processes coffee cherries with meticulous care. Freshly harvested cherries are hand-sorted, pulped, fermented, and washed using water from the nearby Kingu River. Beans are then dried on raised African beds, ensuring consistent quality.
This attention to detail produces AA-grade coffee, known for its vibrant acidity, complex flavors, and distinct sweetness.
Kiambara represents the best of Kenya’s coffee heritage, supported by Mugaga Cooperative's commitment to sustainability and farmer training, ensuring long-term excellence in the cup.
