Marie has been growing coffee since 1976, building her farm alongside her husband. When life took an unexpected and difficult turn, she relied on coffee to support her five children and grandchild, investing everything into her farm. As a founding member of Dukunde Kawa Cooperative, she gained access to training, resources, and a strong community that helped her improve her yields and build a sustainable livelihood.

At 69, Marie continues to grow. She now owns 600 coffee trees, recently planting another 150, and delivers an incredible 80,000kg of cherries to Ruli Washing Station each year. She hires local workers, grows food crops, and remains an active member of the Rambagirakawa women’s group. Her dedication, resilience, and commitment to quality shine through in every cup—making this coffee as inspiring as the woman behind it.
