Rwanda Nkara Women's Coffee - Filter
This beautiful lot comes from 135 women farmers in Rwanda’s Gakenke District, who are part of the Rambagirakawa women’s alliance within the Dukunde Kawa Cooperative. Grown on small farms in the hills surrounding Nkara Washing Station, this microlot reflects the remarkable dedication and care of its producers.
Delicate and sweet, the cup is floral and refined, with notes of green apple, white tea, and elegant white blossom. Nkara is the smallest and most remote of Dukunde Kawa’s stations, managed with precision by a tight-knit team focused on quality.
The women deliver cherry on specific days to process their coffee separately, earning additional income through this initiative. Many are also involved in other income-generating activities like weaving and embroidery, fostering independence and community growth.
This lot is a tribute to the strength, skill, and spirit of the women behind it—and a beautiful example of what thoughtful, community-driven coffee can taste like.
